planting the peas

We did it.  The Good Dog and I went out after work and dug in the garden.

The soil was dark and loamy and ready to receive the tiny peas – and then Harley made sure that the soil was tapped down adequately.

Poking about in the garden we found the tracks of the winter mice –

Or perhaps moles – one cannot be sure, but it is always a mystery how they burrow under the deep snow and survive on the tubers and roots left from last year’s crops.  And the sky overhead – brilliant and deepening as we welcome a full moon …Image

The rhubarb is emerging, as well as the day lilies.  Spring cannot be far behind!

  1. Glad to hear that you’re working on a PDF for the snoods! When you do sell those snood directions my Cavalier will be very happy indeed.
Seemed like a very looooooong winter where I live, so like you I’m champing at the bit to plant ANYTHING green and sprouting. Happy growing!
