bits and pieces

Lots of piecing this weekend as the temps hover in the mid nineties. Although I am an avid gardener, the humid high heat keeps me indoors. The plants seem to be happy without any intervention – my peony border is glorious. I have several Sarah Bernhardt plants which are going to be spectacular by tomorrow … if interested, stay tuned.
I try to complete one block each day of my texty ‘Grown Up I-Spy’ piece. I have no clear idea about it’s outcome, I’m just enjoying the process.
I’ve linked up with Kristy At Quiet Play for her weekly paper piecing challenge. Her iron was fun to piece and I couldn’t resist adding a little text.
I have a dear friend who is going to be a grandmother for the first time in July. I’ve been building a little layette for her daughter Summer, who has always appreciated the quilts that her mother and I have made. I keep seeing little bandana bibs around the internet, so I made a few.
Who says that sewing for boy babies cannot be fun?!!

  1. Hi Jody, wow girl you are flying on these quilt pieces. I adore that piece with the 70’s sewing machine. What an interesting fabric. What a nice thing to do for your friend’s new grandchild. I find it hard to make things for little boys sometimes too. This is a really cute idea! I had about a dozen things on my list to do today but I ended up resting, which is what I think I needed most of all. I think Barkley is enjoying having me still and has not left my side all day. Please give Harley a pet and an extra treat from us! It is hot and humid here too. We should be getting big rain tomorrow or the next day. I am interested in learning more about your new plants. Have a lovely sunday evening! With Love, Delisa 🙂

Your boy baby bibs are adorable especially when they come in a variety pack like that!

    Hi Jody
Just found your blog again – swallowed in work and forgetfulness am I…..
Your fidos and flowers and fibers are comforting to me.
Thanks for continuing and I LOVE the iron – you made it better and wittier, of course!
