Don’t let anyone tell you that there is no difference in quilt battings. There is. I’ve been working with organic cotton batts and I like them, but I have found something so superior that there are no words! Well, there are, it’s just that the difference between wool and cotton is so substantial that I’m not sure I can find the telling expression! FEEL. THE. WOOL.
This crib quilt has a Legacy wool batt and it is so light and lofty and creamy and dreamy that I want to crawl under it. Forever. If these products had been available when mine were babies, I am sure that we would have spent many more hours than we did under our covers!
I love this hexie piece. Although machine pieced on the body, the borders are lovingly hand quilted with embroidery floss. I NEEDED to embellish this beauty. I NEEDED to spend time with it, to stitch private stitches into it, to give it the life that it deserved. It’s available in my Etsy shop. Maybe it won’t go to live with someone else. Maybe it will. It’s a treasure, either way – yes, that’s me, blowing my own horn.
P.S. I’ve decided that I am going to hand quilt, in some fashion, each piece from this quilt forward. Thank you Hexie!
