What a wonderful day we had at my sister’s house in New Canaan!  Up and out early, outfitted with fruit and jars and the Matriarch!  HATE 684, but managed to clip along and make good time. We did Dilly Beans, Mango Chutney and the most fragrant pesto – so fresh – picked right out of my sister’s garden and soaked and whirling about in the mixer with freshly grated parmesan, good olive oil and pine nuts.  I wish that we could do a Scratch and Sniff here – the aroma of all of the fresh ginger and basil and garlic and curry and nutmeg … heavenly.

Of course, we had critics and we had supervision –DSCN6459

The girls were interested in biscuits, but not the kind with creamed cheese and chutney!  Their mother doesn’t know it, but Auntie Jody dropped a few biscuits on the kitchen floor – darn it!

My sister grows the most unique begonias!

This is FROGGY – I brought a baby one home with me.  The next few are magnificent and I hope that no one minds too terribly because I cannot remember their names –DSCN6481DSCN6478DSCN6479

I’ll come back tomorrow and show you her award-winning dahlias!
