quiet monday

The Bucket List Quilt received a lot of attention and we sold many many raffles for it.  It went home with my neighbor, who is a budding quilt enthusiast.  I’m happy for her because I know that she truly values the piece and she will make sure that it is loved and looked after!DSCN6596

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and crossed their fingers!  SPECIAL thanks to the quilting magician Kristin, and her group of wonderful and hopeful raffle purchasers!  The figures aren’t entirely in, but I can confirm that this quilt raised a lot of money for the Friends Helping Friends event.  I’ve been asked to “do it again” next year and I will – with changes.  I’ll start earlier and have tickets ready well in advance of the event!

A quiet morning was needed after all of the hoopla of the weekend.  I cast on a pair of ‘vanilla’ socks –DSCN6602

It’s good to have an uncomplicated go-to sock at the ready when the mind wants a rest.  Mine is a simple 3×1 rib – relaxing, no hassles, true fit.  My sock bag received some attention from the neighbors.  It’s one of my favorites.DSCN6598DSCN6600

I promised my sister some needle cases so I have to get busy!  Enjoy your Monday!

Oh wow, your quilt looks lovely displayed and isn’t it wonderful when you know that it goes to a home that will “love” it ! Just wondering if your 3×1 socks make a nice stretchy cuff ? I’ve made a couple pair but I seem to often get the cuff a little too snug — UGH !! And I also have a case of “second sock syndrome”,which I’m hoping to cure by starting the second sock along with the first. The cooler weather has now made me feel like I need to knit—–it is a cycle, isn’t it? ; )
