under the weather tuesday

Last night I could not get warm.  And then the dread symptoms began … achy muscles, drippy nose and weariness.  Something is brewing and I am treating it with hot tea and bad television.  And knitting.  Lots of knitting.

I started this Cladonia shawl by Kirsten Kapur last summer.   The Madelintosh lace yarns made it a pleasure to knit.DSCN6622

It’s one of those patterns that is absolutely correct and a dream to follow.DSCN6624

Fun striping, lovely lace, delicious colors combined.  Why then the slow finish?DSCN6623

It’s embarrassing, but the truth is – I was unable to figure out the picot edging until today.  After many false starts the light bulb in my stuffy head went on!  And now I have hours of picot to accomplish.  Since I’m not going anywhere (haven’t even dressed yet!) I should be able to finish this today.       DSCN6618

Needle cases waiting for embellishments-  something fun to break up the picot nightmare.  The one that I use daily –DSCN6620DSCN6619DSCN6621

I tried to make my own wool felt for the inner pages, but mine was too thick.  Does anyone have a source for real woolen felt?  A cure for the common cold?

Ok, here we go prairiepointjunction.com, great stuff, blends, not total wool, all colors, super fast shipping,
Purlsoho.com, lots of wool, many you may need a mortgage for however. HellomynameisHeather.com, go to her designer felt. She sells wool blend and bamboo felt. Good quality lots of colors and I think you may like it. My best advice for the common cold———-“Tincture of time” ; )
p.s. your knitting is just so sweet!!!!!!!!

  2. I’m not exactly feeling myself these days either. I have a mug of chamomile/lavender next to me! I hope you feel better soon! Love the Picot – love it enough to not attempt it and ruin something so nice! lol!
