There’s so much creativity to inspire out here in blogland.  Lately I find that I am spending more time looking than doing, buying than trying.   At the end of the day I’m frustrated with my accumulation of patterns and fabric and UFO’s.  I’m beginning to feel disconnected from who I am as a quilter/designer and more like a consumer who keeps filling her shopping cart to the max, frantically trying to achieve that shopper ‘high’.  Something has to give.

Taking a ‘vacation’ from blogging is a calculated risk.  I’d miss all of you and your wondrous projects.  But I recognize that I have to go home again to find me, to rediscover my own strengths and weaknesses.  To rekindle my own personal fiber joy.  I’m going to post randomly.  I’ll still stalk.  I’m putting a self-imposed limit on fabric spending too.

I’m currently knee deep in Anna Maria Horner’s fabrics.Image

It seems like a very good place to be.

  1. Hi Jody! I’ll miss you too, but I sure do understand what you mean. We are still in the middle of what feels like our never ending construction project. Everything is disorganized right now and so are my creative thoughts. I haven’t been able to really connect with that part of myself in a while. Have fun and I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Don’t worry, those happy bursts of creative energy will return soon and you will find your inspiration! You are an artist in every way and extremely talented. Your blog has inspired me on so many occasions to try new things and approach my projects with renewed my energy. With Love, Delisa 🙂
